Lift gate NOT locking

After 3 months of ownership and 4,000 miles, I accidentally tried to open my lift gate without unlocking the car and to my surprise it OPENED! I have comfort access and I tried locking it in every possible way and no go: the lift gate remains unlocked despite the rest of the car being in lock down mode. Anyone else experiencing this? Any thoughts?

re: Lift gate not locking

Do you know whether your Comfort Access is unlocking the lift gate while you are standing there? Have you tried leaving the key fob somewhere out of range?

OK, I'm an idiot and you, Sir, are right! And this Countryman is even smarter than I thought! And this NAM Forum is a better resource than both the Mini manual AND the dealership! The Mini manual says nothing about this aspect of Comfort Access that I can see. When a called the dealership which is 100 miles away, they offered to come pick up my CM and return it so they could troubleshoot the situation. D'Ohhhhhh....guess I'm not the only idiot.

Thanks unibus
