Navigation Maps and Speech

I have had my CM for one week. I know a lot of people on this forum do not like the Mini Nav. I assumed it would be able to speak street names and have current maps.

3-4 years ago, they reworked all the exits on a major freeway here in Houston (610). The maps still show the old entrances and exits. I-10 has also been finished for over a year and the system can't figure out if I'm on the freeway or on the frontage road.

Anyone else having issues like this?

Thanks.
Brian

That's pretty bad. I wish BMW and Mini would share technology more fully, as the current iDrive is wonderful (IMHO). If they would have simply ported that over, it would have been great. I honestly think that we should be given free updates for the first four years as well.

I would bring this to your MA's attention. While it is understandable that the maps might be a year out of date, 3-4 years out of date is not something MINI should expect us to expect, IMO. It is a software upgrade that takes less than 15 minutes, assuming they have the updated software available for the MINI nav system.
