Stability Control System questions

Stability Control System questions

In a countryman S All4, the DTC system is standard right? This means that if i press the DSC button, the dtc takes over? What other things does this button do?

Meaning that i'll get a virtual limited slip diff.? But, is the DSC still active incase i get in a slide/slip? (If it's still going to recover me from a slide)

Is there like 2 stage disengagement? like fully disengage and partially disengage? ahaha

I really want to try the DTC system, but i don't have the guts to turn the DSC off, don't want to risk myself into a slide and spin hahaha.

thanks

DTC is basically DSC-lite. It still engages when you start to slip, but doesn't engage as quickly. DTC will allow you to slide a little bit before it kicks in. It's almost required when driving in snow, as the DSC is so sensitive it will sometimes prevent you from going anywhere. It's also nice if you're driving like a bat out of hell on mountain roads, since you can slide around turns a bit before the traction control kicks in. You probably won't notice any difference on dry roads, but try it next time it rains.

I don't have any experience with it in an All4 (yet), but this is based on a FWD Clubman.

it means that you can get into some slip/slidin fun, but still in the safe side? Since the DTC is going to help you right?

So is there a way to full disengage it for a 4wd drift in the rain? (Just curious since i won't be doing that anyways hahahaha)

To remove all the controls just keep the DTC button pressed for some seconds

With everything turned off you can do handbrake turns, drifting, and all kinds of fun stuff. Of course, YMMV...
