if someone waves and i don't i feel a bit stupid lol. here in charlotte i see a lot of mini's, trying to get a middle finger wave going to freak out other non mini drivers if they happen to see it. Childish i know but fun.

 

Where I live in Texas - on two lane roads, folks wave regardless of car. You get about a 30% return rate.

 

People who aren't used to it sometimes miss the wave, often just a lift of a finger

 

Another countryman in Southampton NY today: Oxford green with white roof. Parked tho so no wave action.

 

Finally I got a wave this past weekend. I was on I-95 and was waved at by a silver 56 going the same direction I was. He was very nice - very cool.

 

Hey, This might be my wife.. She works on that area.. If so, i do not think she purposely ignored you.. She is a new driver (barely 6 months) and she is still on that phase where she stares just on the road with both hands always on the steering wheel (too scared to let go moreso wave back). hehehe..

We have not gotten to that MINI waveback lesson yet.

Saw your Royal Grey S with black top and wheels in the California Pizza Kitchen parking lot in La Jolla, CA on 6/14/12 at about 8pm.

 

Saw a pepper/white w/black roof Cooper "S" pull up behind my 2012 Countryman. She gave me a look (but not a wave), followed me out of the parking lot and drove down Foothill/Mountain (Upland,CA) right next to me without giving me another glance. I waved, then "beeped" but I got ignored. Oh well - off to find another MINI, which are pretty scarce around these parts. :(

 

Well, that's discouraging. I get so excited when I see another CM, but then for them to not acknowledge you... It sucks. Happened to me once with another white CMS.
Oh well.

 

i keep getting waves fom wrx sti owners for some reason, which is a beast of a car, and all the mini waves seem to come from "s" or jcw models.

 

Heck, I'm still gonna try - especially if I see a Surf Blue! Now, that's a great color for the CM's! Almost wish I didn't have superstitions about owning any other color than white in a car...I definitely would have chosen that!

There's a white w/bl roof in CA that will wave to anyone in a MINI!!

 

Saw a Red Countryman with black roof and wheels at 175th St. And Jerome Ave. In the Bronx.

 

My mini's twin!! A silver with black roof in the parking lot of CVS on McKinley and Conn. Ave. Yours was an All4.

 

Oh I'm still going to wave to any new MINI I see around town. I've come to learn which MINI's don't wave so I don't even try.
There are 2 blue MINI's that wave, so I always acknowledge them and every now and again I'll see a CM(S) from out of town, so I'll wave at them. Whether I get one back is another thing, but oh well.

Oh, and thanks for the Surf Blue shout out! I love my Surf Blue! It's such a unique color that you don't see often.

When I'm out on the road, I'm always looking for any tale-tale MINI color!

We were in DC for a week and we saw several CM's roaming about. In fact, on a walk I did with my son on the Potomac on the DC side, I saw four CM's go by Blue, Green, White, Red. Sadly, we didn't not have ours as it was in the shop again.

I saw one in the Babies R US/Toys R US parking lot last week in Falls Church. Ended up having a conversation with an on looker who wanted one. I told them I had one and it's a blast to drive; when not in the shop!

 

The service techs might take issue with this. I bet they enjoy driving it, especially if they finally fix it.

 

Yeah my Mini prowls the mean streets of D.C. I see more and more Countryman everyday - no waves in D.C. proper though.

 

Saw a white w/black roof Countryman S on Stevens Creek blvd, Santa Clara yesterday evening. My wife and I caught up to it at a stop light and gave the driver a wave.

 

Silver and red CM in DC. I'll keep an eye out.
