Cool. I know what you mean. Younger people tend to like the stripes and other bold modifications more. Guess I'm still young...hahaha

I see you just changed your avatar, too. LOL

My '11 Light White Countryman

I traded in my '08 Clubman S for an '11 Countryman after my turbo went broke. The previous owner had the windows tinted (a good thing in Dallas), but I haven't done any mods yet. The first will be some custom stripes.

I wish the non-S had a bit more acceleration, but it is still fun to drive!

I picked up my new Countryman 2 weeks ago. I already had a Clubman and opted for a second mini when our Chrysler died. It took a while to convince my husband to get another mini but I was able to seal the deal when we brought the luggage (for 4) to the dealer and it easily fit in the car. I needed an all4 and room for the kids and 100 lb+ dog.

@littlebigmini: Welcome to NAM, and that's a beauty you have there! I drove a Justa for a few years before jumping to an S. Both were so much fun and I saw it as a two step process of 'easing' into full awesomeness of Minis.

I was thinking of getting a roof basket like yours. How's the wind noise (if any)?

@scalpel_ninja

I've been trying to convince my wife to trade in the cab (Chevy Tahoe) for a Countryman S but she won't have it. Soon though, very soon she'll submit. lol

The basket is great. We drove up to the snow right after I installed it and worked out perfectly. Honestly, the wind noise hasn't been an issue. There's a fairing on the front of the basket that limits the noise. But I haven't really noticed too because I always drive with the windows up-- Don't want dirt to get into the interior :D

I seem to be one of the few who has a light white roof as well. Love the other pics and helps to see how some of the mods I'm considering look.

Just ordered my Light White/Black Countryman 'S' on Monday.

This will be my 4th MINI, but first Countryman. Can I get in the group yet? Don't even have the production number...

Anyone know if there's a signature badge for light white R60 yet?

Just joined the club this afternoon, MINI of Charleston (Hendrick) had a light white S in stock that had almost everything I wanted option wise. Anthracite wheels, white turn signals, auto climate control (premium package 1), NO sunroof, auto. The only thing missing was the satellite radio which they threw in the deal as a free install (though from what I gather it's just re-flashing the radio). Also has the cold weather package (not sure why they ordered it like that, it's Charleston for crying out loud!). Got essentially Edmunds true market value, -500 with an additional -500 as part of the Channel Islands surfing promotion off the top. I've got to go back in when the rest of my goodies come in for install, black bonnet stripes, fluro yellow side scuttles and mirrors, and roof rack cross bars (still researching preferred actual racks). Going with a sort of Brawn GP look.

For anyone else that has the accessory lights on the grill...mine were wired by the local dealership,at purchase, to only work when my high beams are on, is that normal?

Yes. Tat is the law in many (most?) states. The fog lights only come on with low beams. Same laws.

So, picked mine up Tuesday night. Still don't have stripes for her yet, but Lana's windows have been tinted. Ther are a few smaller subtle changes to be made on her exterior too, but parts not here yet.

This next shot I took today in the parking lot of Target. Thought it was a perfect shot of how her size compares to some of the behemoths on the road.

Lana, yours is virtually identical to mine except for the wheels (I got the 18's with the silver around the rim).

And behemoths is the exact right word, though I can't believe you didn't end park yours like I do all of mine (against a curb with only one side exposed to an idiot)...

ETA: Oh, and I didn't get the driving lights. Can't afford them at the moment, but wish I could!

Lana is the car's name.

Where we were, there were only a few spots. No curb spots at all, or even "parking out in the boonies and walking" spots.

They are nice, but are about $850 after the VDC installs them. Still much cheaper than the dealer. They light up the night, but mostly I like the way they look 24/7. I took the covers off. I see a lot of Minis with the lights and covers on, which I do not get at all.
