UPDATE:
It was a very easy fix!
The roof hydraulic motor is located in the rear trunk:
Simply unfasten the bolt on the right holding it down (you only need to unfasten one bolt)
Lift the metal piece holding the foam enclosure in place and
gently cut the two pieces of tape holding the top piece of the foam enclosure to the bottom piece (at the seam of the enclosure) and you will have access to the hydraulic motor.
Mine looked to be out of hydraulic fluid:
Lift the motor gently, unfasten the fluid reservoir fill plug with a 4mm allen bit and refill fluid.
Here is a video of how to do it: on an R57 model:
Super easy!
Works like new.

Hello everyone,
So it happened yesterday that my soft top started to close very slowly and with a lot of noise, and as of this morning, it nearly refuses to budge.
Does anyone know where the hydraulic motor for the roof is located? (I'm guessing that could be the problem)
I saw that on the regular convertible Minis it's located above the rear left wheel, but I can't seem to locate mine...
Does anyone have another guess as to what it could be??
For clarity it is a 2013 Mini Roadster S
