keeping the rear window intact

so, my roadster is on a boat. and since this is my first brand new car, i'm going to try to take pretty pristine care of it.

one of the things i have not liked about convertibles is the eventual breakdown of the rear window. it eventually ends up looking horrible - dry, crusty, etc.

someone at my job has a bmw convertible, and he covers his rear window with a blanket every day. is this something that helps, or is there some kind of cover that fits the window that will reflect UV and etc?

also, if it does end up getting crusty, how much does replacement usually run?

thanks all!

That happens with plastic rear windows. MINIs have glass ones.

Ask is right about the rear glass window. No cover is necessary.

However, I'm pretty sure there are a number of owners on this forum who tuck their Roadster into their garage for the night with a blanket, video monitor, bedtime story and a lullaby!

Yeah, it won't deteriorate like a plastic window, but is IS a total ***** to clean well. You'll contort yourself into some damn funny positions trying to reach all of it.

Sent from my phone using NAMotoring, which is why I've probably mistyped something.
