I have been looking to ugrade the exhaust to Akrapovic but the reply from outmotoring is that it only fits the R58 and not the R59 because of the bracing issues. Anyone had the same experiece.
What other exhaust would you recommend if the Akrapovic is a no go.
Thanks.
I will second what jkapinos said. It fits, no clearance issues at all. The problem is Akrapovic doesn't know it fits, perhaps because they never got a Roadster to install it on. I am also running the the Akra Down Pipe. The quality and performance of these parts is top notch.
Sorry but that is BS. I've had the Akrapovic down pipe, exhaust, delete-R for over six months on my 2013 Roadster S. I got it from Way, they had it in stock and sent it to me in two days. It's the best exhaust you could put on a roadster in my opion.
Thanks a lot for the reply and for clearing up the confusion. Akrapovic it is!!!! Woo hooo.

Thanks a lot for the reply and the pictures Steven. Have always been a big fan our your car.
Do these black exhaust tips come with the akrapovic system or did you purchase separately. And if so would they work on a stock exhaust?
Hi Rox-
The carbon fiber tips are Akrapovic pieces. When you purchase their exhaust you have a choice between Titanium and Carbon Fiber tips. I don't know if they can be made/modified to fit the stock exhaust.

Just get a car air compressor pump like I did. Usually, even if you do a nail, it is a slow enough leak that you can pump it enough to get to a tire store, or whatever you use. I've been running NON run flats since day three on my JCW. Actually last summer, I didn't put the TPS whatever thing and still didn't have any problems. I just checked the tire pressure once a month. No leaks on my Motegi Racing wheels. 16 lbs. too. Going to put them on my coming S Roadster, although I'm painting them closs black, that and increase the tire size to 215 x 45 x 17 non run flats again. That and keep the air compressor from Lil Guy.
While a can of slime CAN work, It can also be problematic. I ran Conti Contact Pros DW on my R56 [bought them 6 weeks before it was totaled [] I put the same, but DWS, on my Crossfire. I had an issue on the highway and the tire came off the rime and shredded it. I had to have Darth Vader towed and replace the tire @ $330 [19"]. Best idea if no run flats is a can of slime AND a doughnut. Just my two cents.

Yep. Almost half the cost of purchasing the whole exhaust system w/tips included. I thought about these too, but ended up going with the engraved JCW tips.
The price is undoubtedly an effective way for Akrapovic to discourage posers...or to profit off of them.
Where did you get the diffuser from? What was the cost?

Problem was, I have a Cooper Roadster and even though I have the Factory JCW Trim, the passenger-side muffler and single tail pipe made consideration of the diffuser quite problematic.
So there was only one thing to do. I'm guessing it might be the only R59 of its kind -- which I like.

As Way states, he's a good source.
Since I had asked Chad at DT to do the extensive exhaust system fabrication work to accommodate the diffuser on my MC Roadster, I just picked up a diffuser that they had in stock at the time. Comparable price and no shipping.
