R59 Senna the Roadster
Yup...it changes colors just like your other interior lights....it's new on the 2012 models according to my MA :-)
My coupe does not have the blue light.

I picked up Senna yesterday and it's everything I hoped for and more - I love it so much
The exhaust popping is crazy and it's great you can completely stop it by turning the sport mode off if you need to - N18 is an amazing motor!
As mentioned in another thread the new turbo heat shield is very effective - the bonnet was stone cold after hours of driving (pics at bottom)..

Nice car! They are very photogenic, aren't they?

Thanks again everyone
Well today was our first trip abroad with Senna - a short 35 minute trip under The Channel and we were in France. Our trip would take us up to Bruges, Belgium - returning to the UK in the evening.
We decided to take the backroads through France/Belgium, since it's in the run-in period so I don't want to be holding constant revs for too long.
The crazy exhaust popped and banged non-stop, echoing off the buildings as we passed through the towns. Once we got out into the countryside the twisty roads arrived - it has to be the best handling MINI I've driven in standard form - the decision to not spec run-flats no doubt helped!
The roadster got looks wherever we went - including two cars that pulled up beside it just to have a look while we were in McDonalds. Plus locals having a good look and the thumbs up from other MINI drivers.
We had the roof down nearly all day and it was the perfect driving experience - so far without doubt the best MINI I've owned, a really amazing all round package.
Bruges wasn't bad either
Next trip is MINI United next week
Sorry for the short review - been driving since 6.30am and now time to hit the hay..
Here are a few boring photos..

Speaking of driving log... Will you be picking up our roadster this week, and starting or own driving log?

Thanks again all
Well in just over a week of ownership I've covered nearly 900 miles so the run-in period is close to being over! Senna is now looking seriously dirty, detailing tomorrow ready for departure to MINI United next week.
Yesterday I took a trip to what is considered one of the most bleak places in Britain - Dungeness, Kent.

Engine cooling down...

The country lanes of Kent...

Dungeness lighthouse - next to the Nuclear Power Station...

Dungeness lifeboat station

9oC - still warm enough to have the roof down!

looks gorgeous David, right there with you 800 miles in first week! Hope you enjoy driving as much as I do. We got stuck in traffic leaving Manhattan, 2hrs to hours to get home, we didn't care just enjoyed.
Wow what a trip! The car has now done over 3,400 miles in 3 weeks on some pretty amazing roads. It was 37oC at MINI United and snowing in Chamonix!

Well it's all over - I'm without a car again! The car had a major paint defect from the factory on the passenger door frame - I'm not entirely sure what happened but I guess it wasn't spotted in quality control.
I wasn't happy with the offer of a respray on a brand new car - which I felt I was being pressurised into doing. After a lot of stress and many emails a new car has been offered ...

Although not something I was as bothered by the paintwork inside the boot was not as good as other roadsters I have seen.
