Will do... The service guy said something about shuddering or vibrating on closure, but I'll get the actual explanation...

He was funny,... I mentioned it to him and that I found it on the forum and he paused for a few seconds, and then chuckled, "Huh! You're right!". They are nice guys, but if they spent just a little bit of time keeping up on what is going on with these cars, they would be so much more helpful, be able to charge lots of repair/update time to Mini, and look all cool and hip in the process. Not to mention I would feel much more confident that my car is completely up to date. I guess they see them all day and aren't as into them as actual owners. I think only one guy down there actually owns a Mini.

Thanks again! I'll let you know what they say.

Too funny! I always try to sound interested and never ever mention forums, just that I heard from a "friend". hahaha The same thing applies to Dr.'s.. don't ever tell them you read something on the internet!

Yeah, we went through this with the bonnet insulation. You guys are so great with your research and info! I got the correct part number for the insulation from the Coupe section that BlueToy posted. I called the service manager and gave him the number and he said he would install it. When we got there, all that was installed was the little silver bit and it wasn't even installed properly. I had to pull up the post and show him the photo. Then they were able to find the correct part. They must think I'm the person that must have an iPhone because it has the Gbs and the Wifis.

I probably should learn to be more discrete

Cool, so you save $300. Glad the SiriusXM went away. Like others have said the antenna isn't the best looking thing out there and the highly compressed sound from the spacecraft is not what you should get in a BMW group product. When my one year trial is up I will start to look for the silver plug thing in the above video to take the antenna's place.

Hi All,

I talked to the service manager about the automatic top software update and it only applies to build dates before May. Evidently it was to correct some window juddering when the windows go down as the top is being put down. Our car has a May build date so it came with the update already installed.

We still don't have the car, but that is another story... You wouldn't believe what they did to the new bonnet insulator!
