Debating whether to trade in our 2008 Z4 for a new Roadster. I already drive a Cooper Countryman S. we haven't test drove the Roadster yet. Any thoughts on this?

 

The Z4 is a great car, but a different beast than the MINI.

What do you like about the Z4? What don't you like about it? I'd use those answers to help decide if the MINI is a better or a worse fit.

Are you just bored and want a new toy? I understand that! Not the best reason to get a new car, but far from the worst IMHO.

In a semi-parallel, I sold my Z3 for my first MINI.

Hi Beach Girl : also interested in why you'd consider trading the Z4 for the roadster? For me going from a hard top to soft top is one major factor to not, beside the specs of the vehicles

 

Hmmm, seeing that you already own a Mini product, you are aware of the BMW DNA in every Mini. I own a late model BMW 3 series that doesn't get much drive time since the Mini came along. I find the Mini that engaging to drive. My suggestion would be to spend some time behind the wheel. Drive both an "S" and a JCW and see how they feel. That will be enough to make up your mind I would think. Hope this helps
