Any suggestion where to find good wiper blades to replace the OEM installed at the dealer during the maintenance program?

I found Trico Rain Guard with the same low profile attachment but they are garbage after less than a month.

 

I'm also looking for a recommendation here...

 

You can get Bosch Wipers at Pep Boys. Worked really well for me.

The problem is to find a frameless, flat and low profile blade set up with a streamline attachment that doesn't raise the wiper arm.


I am wondering if there is a way to replace just the rubber blades with silicone refills and keep this same low profile mounting bracket.

 

+1 for PIAA. Silicone will definitely last longer. The heat here in FL kills rubber wipers quick.

 

I installed the OEM back and returned the Trico which are real garbage. At least for now, the old ones are better.


A local AutoValue store found Anco..... never heard of that before. They will have by tomorrow to figure if they fit. I live in WA and its like living in the middle of nowhere. PIAA Silicone rubber........they don't even have them listed.


It seems I have to travel to civilization to find them at a Pep Boys store somewhere in Seattle as the O'reillys guy told me.

Glad you posted that. I went to one wiper site and it said 18" and 19" but a different one said 20" and 21". I believe you should know what's correct. Thanks.

 

These are what I'm running on Vlad now. They also come with wipes used to prep the windshield during installation. Basically a Rain-X type wipe to help water bead up and roll off. You only need one so you can save the other for later.

 

You need 20" and 21".

I received the Anco from the parts store. I will see during the week how they perform otherwise they will go back.

I also remove the RainX coating from my windshield because I have the feeling this is also part of the problem as rhe local automotive glass shop told me. The wipers have a tendency from time to time to wobble on the glass.

I never had this problem before until I started to use RainX a few months ago.

 

Same here. Tried Rain-X and had a problem with the blades jumping. Haven’t had that issue with the PIAA wipers. Don’t know if it’s the silicone which is a lot more flexible or if the PIAA wipes use a different formulation.

 

Both of us are certainly right. I have the Anco blades installed since the last 3 days and they are certainly better than the Trico. It rains here everyday now in WA so I can figure out better.


I cleaned my windshield with rubbing alcohol as recommended by the glass shop to get rid of the wax. Everything is a lot smoother with no streaks but I am not sure I will keep these either. They seem to be noisy compared to the old OEM.

 

Do you have a photo of the PIAA installed on your Coupe?


I am not sure I will keep the Anco. They are less stiffer than the Trico but far from perfect fit.

 

 

I installed the PIAA I received last week. It rained this afternoon and I can see a big improvement over the Trico and Anco aftermarket products I tried and returned in the last 2 months. My older OEM were even far better every time I put them back.


I believe the OEM still fit better because the wiper arms sit lower to the cowl with no need for an adapter and the OEM are also more streamlined, slimmer and less bulky at the bottom of the windshield.


The Coupe ranked windshield has a larger surface to cover than other models. The PIAA product is for sure the best aftermarket wiper I found until now.

 

That's what we have been saying about the Piaa they are just great. Also they will last so much longer.

 

I just hope I will become accustomed with the higher wiper arm standing with big gap over the blade adapter because they really show up at the bottom of the windshield when driving and you have the white PIAA script in your face all the time. This is a distraction.


Overall, they should have designed a better adapter.

 

I have lost the little cap thingy that goes on the end. Any ideas where I could buy a replacement part? The blades are in great shape no need to replace at the moment. Just hate driving down the road in my sweet ride and see that missing.
