Window controls.

As a new member, i try to do searches for different things, but no joy with this. I'm sure the topic has come up, just don't know how to word my search.
Anyway, I've just got my MINI a month ago, and am finding that i really don't care for the location of side front window controls. Wouldn't they be better around where the mirror controls are on the door? To me, that's the natural place to put them. You wouldn't have to take your eyes off the road to access them.
Also, i think it would be great to have the rear side windows open out (vertical hinged), as they were in the '60's. A bit of nostalgia here...

The third generation cars moved them to the door, and after four first and second gen cars every time I get a third gen loaner I'm thoroughly confused! I count this quirky positioning as part of the MINI charm which I think is being slowly eroded in the later cars, and it makes me sad.

Yea, its the style of the older toggle bank design. I throw back to center-mounted controls, the R60 newer style started with that and now its on the Gen 3 MINIs.
