R58 Need Help!! Wanna get an ECU Tuning.
A lot of people use the NM Module which installs in minutes with attachments to existing parts under the hood. It "tricks" the car into increasing the turbo boost a little. I think it's only about $400 for the F56 maybe less for the R58. There's also a similar unit called Burgertune. I don't have one, just have read about other people's on the R56 and F56 forums. Some people even use them on their factory JCW cars. You can remove it if you're worried about your dealer seeing it during service, but one guy said his dealer actually sells the NM Module and installs it. You can adjust a setting depending on how high fuel octane you use. Every owner raves about how much better the acceleration is. Personally I think my JCW accelerates fast enough, I think I'd get a ticket if I used one!
DOH! Forgot about the JB+ from Berger. (sorry Terry, mental blind spot from being a Manic Dealer). The JB+ is a great device that offers a lot of bang for the buck. Well worth the price of admission. I still have one in my garage from when I had an N18 R56. Been holding on to it in case I can get my wife into a Countryman
It is a substantial improvement over the stock JCW performance. I don't need more. I also believe the drivetrain has limits to be able to handle more power without any other serious mods.
My car is stock and still under factory maintenance and warranty. I don't feel it needs anything more because it is a driver and not a track car.
It has more punch and torque when needed and its what I was looking for.
