R58 JCW Coupe MPG update at 2300............
JCW Coupe MPG update at 2300............
I see a major improvement from 500 miles ago when I reported excessive consumption. I would say that I am more "aggressive" with the engine and it seems to fix the problem. Here are my comments:
I am about 25-26 city driving but I keep the engine in the 3K-5K range to bring maximum torque. It is pretty noisy but responsive. Going to the 6K redline doesn't bring anything significant but traction loss.
There is no significant difference about economy in more conservative driving as I have done before during the break in period in the 2K-4K range, always city driving.
So, bottom line, pushing the engine hard close to its limits seems strange but it is the way I improved the overall performance.
Now, next week......... cruising the mountains I-15 at very high speed will be interesting because it will be the first time I will drive the JCW on a long trip.
How does it handle being pushed uphill by the big US and Japanese iron?
Stay posted........
