So is New JCW Roadster N16 or N18?

I thought the main difference between the N16 and N18 engines was the Valvetronic system. But according to the spec sheet both the cooper s and JCW have a 1.6 L valvetronic engine.

I have attached a printout of a mini comparison sheet.

I can't tell what the spec sheet says.

I was under the impression that all of the roadster versions will have the n18 engine. The Coupe S and Justa Coupe has the valvtronic but the JCW Coupe does not.

Does that make sense?

I wonder if that means the Valvetronic engine is coming earlier for the JCW Roadster or if all the JCWs will get it early (i.e. before the 2013 model year MINIs).

Those HP/torque figures are for the N14 JCW engine. I would seriously doubt that the first run of the roaster will include a N18 JCW variant of the engine.

Best to do a search on NAM or elsewhere for Prince N14 and Prince N18 since I will screw it up. I think the major difference is the full valvetronic like on some BMW engines.
