Allright James your driving full speed ahead now.
I think the throttle response is a bit touchy with the sport button on. What do you think? I am getting used to it now but from the get go it was a little more difficult to get used to compared to my R56. You are very disciplined. I wouldn't have been able to go that long without using the SB.

I also went back and looked at my "cigarette lighter". Your right it's not a lighter just a cap so to speak. I thought it was a lighter and just tossed in the armrest. Last night I went back and looked and it is a cap. More aptly described as a plug I think.

Motor On!

I found the throttle response greatly improved, but not too touchy. Not sure I like the heavier steering at low speeds. But I like the sound of the JCW in Sport mode.

Those are stock 17" Black Star Bullet wheels with no spacers or anything.

Thanks!
I have the same wheels on my 2011 Clubman S and want to upgrade to JCW BBKs and not change wheels yet. MINi never included these rims on their "official list" of compatible wheels. Thanks for the info. Did you order combo like this and any issues when ordering this particular wheel/BBK combo?

No issues. The JCW Coupe comes standard with the larger JCW (Brembo) brakes and those wheels are one of the no-cost options for the JCW Coupe.

Yes. There was a JCW Tuning Kit for the R50 MINI Cooper. It was offered for only a couple months in the US. I was told there are less than 30 of these in the US.

Passed 2,500 trouble-free miles.

The only issue I've had is actually with SIRIUS. Twice I've lost all my stations and had to call to get it reset.

Sounds good. I have now passed 3200 miles of trouble free driving. Just lots of fun.

James the Sirius issue you had happened to me twice as well in the first day or so of ownership. I blamed it on Sirius. I have not had the problem since.

The car is a dream to drive. I drove it to Portland for a meeting the other day. It's quieter and more sure and steady on the freeway than my R56 was. It was an enjoyable ride to say the least.

Pat

I'm also really enjoying the JCW Coupe. Periodically I drive my 2004 Justacooper and I wish my Coupe felt as light and nimble as the R50.

The important thing was that I was able to fit all my groceries in it and motor back to Point A.

Did no mods on my Coupe this week. Still have factory wheel gap and no tint. My grille surround and headlight trim is still shiny chrome. But I drove it like I still have 58 payments left.

Nothing, unless my MINI dealer is adding wax when they wash it.
