That's your opinion. Hideous is a bit strong of a word for the antenna being on the roof.

jamesday24 has provided the best answer to my question.

I think it looks fine on hatchbacks. Don't think it would work on a Coupe.

And it is my opinion. So?

I've come to learn on NAM that many people hate the look on the Coupe. It is their opinion and I've just come to live with it as they have the right to express their disinterest to the look. You apparently don't like where the antenna is located on the Coupe. I differ with your opinion. I'm allowed to express it if I want and I chose the word hideous because that is how I feel if their were one on the top.

You may find it harsh but I don't.. It is your opinion though so you are freely allowed to express it and say it here.. You should understand that people can have other opinions to and that is just how it is

Show me once where I said I don't like it on the rear fender. I asked WHY it was on the rear fender, not that I didn't LIKE it on the rear fender. Unlike you trying to make an argument out of it, jamesday24 answered my question of WHY it is on the rear fender. The reason is they want the Coupe and Roadster to be the same. You're thinking into it way too much and about your stripe comment, not all Coupes will have stripes.

I'm getting an MCS, but I like those black star bullets so much on the spice orange I just called my dealer and changed from the black conical spokes probably within hours of it getting a VIN number.

Which is why I mentioned that it is a common option to get on the Coupe since it is available to get with the Sports Package as opposed to the Hardtop which does not offer Sports Stripes as a standard add-on. I even said that a few posts ago. So yes it could factor into that and yes james comment is also true.

I was just posting specifics of what I thought prior to James posting and my opinion on it which you disagreed upon since you found 'hideous' too strong of a word ...

Anyways back on topic..

One note - The Black star bullets aren't truly black. They are a gunmetal grey. Just a heads up as I noticed that after my car went into production and lived through this ultimate fear of it not going well with the car. I will say that the grey matches the trim around the car very well so it still looks stellar and I think I made the right choice with them.

Regarding the discussion on stripes, I'm going to put sport stripes (bonnet and boot only, no contrasting roof) on my MCS, but I'm going to have them bring them all the way down the bumpers. OOPS, I just realized that this is an R58 thread. Sorry, I just take my MCS and move on over to the right thread.

Thanks for the heads up on the star bullets. They didn't look pure black in the pics so I kind of assumed that, but they do look good with the trim and the spice orange. I also read on here that someone said they were closer to the color of brake dust which is a good thing.

Home at last... More pics tho follow.

Mods already done - Blacked out belt line. K&N Air Filter. Unfortunately MINI have changed the thread size on the aerial connection so the stubby I bought doesn't fit.

Good to know on the stubby, that's one of the mods I'm wanting to do ASAP.

Indeed. It does a good job at hiding it. Though I've been getting my car washed fairly regularly at the dealership (free!)

Really?? Not me. Hand wash only by me only. (Or my wife.)

Just a thing I have I guess.

Don't they only wash it when you bring it in for service? Your posting makes it sound like you're going in there for your weekly car wash. If you are, that's very cool!

My MINI Dealer offers lifetime car washes for free.

Another benefit is that they detail the inside each time

Tinted. Stubby aerial fitted. Scuttles fitted.

Nothing out of the norm other than the additional gauges.

Can I assume that it will also fit an R56? It looks great! Much better than some of the after market stubbies. Do you mind my asking how much they charged for it?

Quick google search shows as 38.00

Not sure what the dealer price is but it's easy enough to find out.
