First off sorry if this in the wrong section, I've removed the factory muffler and installed a OEM JCW muffler in its place, sounds little more throaty and a slightly deeper idle. My question is has anyone else done the same and added a aftermarket catted downpipe? if so any sound clips? any drone? The wife hasn't noticed the JCW muffler so I'm seeing what else I can get away with sound wise haha.

 

I ran JCW mufflers and cat less down pipe on my R55 Clubman. It made mode noise than stock, but still not obnoxiously loud. I daily drove that setup, and went on date nights, for a few years.

 

Ah good to know! I'm planning on running a HFC in hopes of no CEL, I'm assuming I will need a defouler for the downstream 02 probably?

 

Having a cat in the down pipe will help with exhaust sound. I would plug in the second O2 sensor without the fouler first. Then, if the CEL comes on, either add one or get that tune you know you want....

 

I do I really do want it lol, Do you know if it is going to for sure throw a code or is a hit or miss?

 

The later models are a little bit more sensitive, but it is really hit or miss.
