Model year differences

Hi all. I am about to take the plunge on my first Mini. It will be an R57 (2nd Gen Cooper S Cabriolet manual transmission) and I was wondering two things: (i) Are there any substantive differences/recommendations between the 2013, 14 and 15 model years and (ii) do all models come standard with traction control - not just stability control, but traction control. This car may spend some time in the snow and I know traction control can help a lot.

Thanks in advance for any responses or guidance, even if it is just to direct me to other posts that might have answers to these inquiries.

And yes, I'll be working on my Avatar and signature!

Not sure on your traction control questions but im almost positive those model years came with the n18 (the better engine) so your definitely looking in the right direction.

FYI... the traction control in the Mini can get you stuck in the snow. There are times I had to pull into my driveway into deep snow, just to get out of the road. The only way I could get back out was to turn the TCS off. It would cut power and the car wouldn't go anywhere. If planning on snow driving, get a great set of dedicated snow tires for winter use. My car is a tank in the winter with her snow tires.
