R57 09 MCS Turbo Timer?
09 MCS Turbo Timer?
Does the 09 MCS need a turbo timer? I let my engine sit idle for 2-4 mins before I remove the key, but sometimes I don't want to wait. Do I need to let it sit idle or is it necessary for a turbo timer? I just don't want anything to happen to my mini that I could have prevented
uhh no cars with watercooled turbos do NOT need them.. and the car has an AUX water pump for the turbo that runs when the car is off.. so you dont need to let it sit and idle.. i imagine it gets hotter at idle lol.
That's what I thought. I was told that there is no need to warm the car up or cooling it down by the SA and most likely in the manual when I checked 3 years ago, but someone recently told me to check the forums because he thought every car with turbo needs one even if told not to install one.
Thanks...

Your friend is misinformed.
The only cars that require it are oil cooled only. Water flows when the car is off on most if not all water cooled turbo cars. Kids just put them on cause they think they are cool or something.

no,no,no
no,no,no
funny how your fans only run hard at idle.. lol.
I can say I have let me car sit and had my fans on and driven and they go off.
That is a good sign that your car is hot at idle cause there is no air moving around.
So i stand by my original statement.
