Jack points? Jacking up the car?

Hi - sorry for the noob question, but I just picked up my JCW 57 on Saturday and have winter wheels coming UPS today to put on. I know that the car has jack points for the factory tire-replace jack, but I don't know if that jack is in the car. I'm guessing no, since it came with fun flats.

So that being said, I can use a standard floor jack, but, I don't want to jack things up so to speak.

Is there a preferred way to raise these? I'm guessing it won't be overly complicated, but since I'll be working outside and in the evening, any info in advance would be very helpful.

Thanks all.

Just make sure that the jack and jack point are well alligned and have at it. After you've given the factory jack a good looking over, you will naturally turn to your trolley jack instead.

Get acquainted with Blimey Cabrio's blog and especially this page: http://www.blimeycabrio.com/?s=jack+point&x=10&y=14 I've done that several times for rotating tires and it works great.

Another good source for all things MINI is a huge library of links at SooperCooperInfo.com. Add it and Blimey to your MINI favorites folder.

Ok thats a very good site for some MINI info. I really like the part on painting the brake calipers. I really want to do mine. Although I think I will do mine at the dealer I used to work at instead of on jack stands.
