So, the wife's first reaction last night with the twins in the back seat was "Woooow, I spun the tire"... and then a huge smile and almost WOT as she entered the interstate on-ramp. The rumble from the muffler was music to my ears.
My two year old boy trying to say "more more more" and my little girl holding on to her hat and car seat like it was a roller coaster ride...
Let's say the JCW Stage 1 Kit in my household is "Wife Approved".

So, from your signature looks like you have a Gen 1 hardtop, so your kit is more involved I think. While I was doing all my research, I cane across this guy who documented the Gen 1 JCW Engine Tuning Kit very well with some awesome pictures. Take a look: http://www.jamesday.net/mini/jcw/index.html
Trust me when I say you're going to love it. It's been 5 days since I had mine done, and it's beyond anything I can describe. I still get the big smile on my face when I hear the engine roar to life..

Interesting they deleted the enamel JCW badge from the airbox in lieu of a molded-in badge.
The "Stage 1" kit is pretty much a no-brainer for the 2nd gen MCS's owners that want to have zero warranty hassle. I'd imagine that the exhaust doesn't drone as much with the Cabrio as it does with the hatchback.
Congrats on your new hot rod!
Cheers,
Ryan

Oh that note, do you know what part number was ordered for your JCW Engine Tuning Kit? Was it the same as what I posted above in the Q&A section?
Just curious.
Question for you though, how much was your installation (before the 20%.) My dealer put $380 on my order for the installation of it.

Mini recommends 2 hours for the install, but my dealer says it's actually 3 hours so that's why they charge 3 hours for the JCW Engine Tuning Kit.
The installation prices may differ becuase dealer labor hourly charge may be different for each state. I'm in Northern California, so they charged me 3 hours with eath hour being $164/hr. So it was $492.00 before the 20% discount coupon I used.

Hmm, I was checking out Motoring File a few minutes ago, and was going through all the postings and I noticed this one:
URL = http://www.motoringfile.com/2009/02/...kit/#more-8229
If you scroll to the last paragraph, it makes reference to a JCW Engine Tuning Kit that will arrive second half of the year.
So the question is, what was installed on my R57, and what has everyone else ordered?
Now, I'm curious. I'm going to have to grill my dealer and ask him exactly what he ordered for me. My serial number makes reference to the Engine Tuning Kit for the R56 and is a high serial number. If they indeed installed the wrong one, that is going to be an interesting conversation?

"...Look for the later option to make it’s way to the R57 Convertible in the second half of the year. The main hold-up on the tuning kit will be the addition of a slightly redesigned exhaust needed wrap around the Convertible’s extra bracing...."

So, I had the dealer confirm with Mini, and indeed what they installed in my Mini is the one for the R57. Mini had originally intended this to be released the R57 JCW Engine Tuninig Kit in July, but it was released a few months yearly than expected.Since it's esentially the same as the R57 kit (except for the exhaust portion), the engine badge and certificate will still say R56 on it.That might change later on this year, but for now both say R56.

So, now that I had my JCW Tuning Kit installed for the last few weeks, I had one more change in mine.
I wanted to get rid of my MINI Center Wheel Hub Caps, and replace them with the JCW ones but with the updated logo. The problem is not all the JCW wheels have the same sized center wheel hub cap, and I have the R111 17" Black Star Bullets that are exclusive with the S Convertible.
So after much research, I finally found the proper part number and I ordered them last week. They arrived today, and let me tell you it was a ***** to remove the MINI ones. The proper way is to remove the tire, and push it out from the inside, but I didn't want to go through all that trouble, so I decided to pry them out with thin screw driver, and while I was successful, I slightly knicks one of my rims as I was prying it out. In the end, I'm happy, but I will always notice my little knick everytime I look at the drivers front rim.
In any event, if you wanted the part number for the JCW center wheel hub cap, it's: 36-13-6-778-917 and MSRP is $11.83, but you may be able to negotiate the price down 15 to 20% based on Morristown's price.
NOTE: The part number above is for the entire center wheel hub cap, and not just the sticker that sells for cheaper that you apply on top of your MINI one you already have. I didn't want to go that route, as I figured over time with the different weather conditions, the sticker one may start to peel or eventually come off, and I didn't want to deal with that. I like it the way it would come from the factory

Too bad your buyer won't be able to do the ECU tune, since its VIN specific.

So, Jeremy is right. The kit you'll sell will not include the ECU software upgrade the dealers need to install becuase those are encrypted with your VIN, and without that, the kit doesn't really have it's full value in my opinion.
You might give the new owner the CD, but the software on the CD can't be installed in another vehicle. Also, is your kit from an existing hardtop or the new convertible? There are two seperate part numbers as the pipes are slight different to commodidate the new R57.

Here you go. These were taken on my iPhone 3G with the new 3.0 operating system, and I have to say that the image quality is so much better, as is the reduced delay when taking the picture.
If you look carefully, you'll see where I made the three small nicks on the rim. Ohh well. I will try and use a sharpy to least cover up the silver chrome which is the scratch so it's not so obvious
Yup, my wheels are pretty durty, but that's expected with stock brakes I guess.
