R57 She arrived... and what a MINI she is...
Now only do two car seats fit perfectly, with the top down you can install them in under 5 minutes. Mini makes accessing the new LATCH much easier than many other vehicles as they have little plastic covers that make then so accessible. And for the top teather (which on the Mini is a bottle teather), those are accessibly by the rear boot.
My kids love the open top driving, and waving their hands in the warm air as it passes over them while they repeat the words "more", "fast", "ohh oh"... It makes you feel like purchasing the new Convertible was a wise choice for the entire family...

Anyhoo, thanks again for the info and the great photos! Enjoy the car!
Is fitting three kids in an R57 much easier than three kids in an R52? I know that our '06 convertibles have anchors for two child seats in the rear (although we've never needed more than one child seat installed at a time).

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Atleast in California, I think you have to have a booster seat for children under 8 yrs old, and I thought you couldn't have children in those types of seats in the front due to the airbag issue...
But I guess it's technical possible to have three kids and one adult in a R57 or R52.

Here is yet another story of our adventures in our Convertible.
This morning I was heading to the Mini dealership to pick up my Rubber Boot Mat which I had ordered but was on backorder. I had parked the Convertible with the top down in my garage which according to the computer was around 65 degrees this morning. As I pulled out and started down the street, I noticed that the computer now shows 47 degrees as the temperature, and the automatic A/C kicked in with full fans blowing heat. I also turned on the heated seats to their highest temperature. Hell, I wanted to experience the "Always Open" tag line of Mini, so why not go topless with all the window down in 47 degree weather.
Now here is where it gets interesting. I was travelling on the freeway doing around 70 in the brisk 47 degree weather, and out of nowhere (ok, maybe my blind spot), I noticed a CHP officer coming towards me, but no lights blinking or anything. He moved to my right, then behind and on to my left. He was checking me out. So I'm thinking, maybe I should slow down a bit, becuase the last thing I need is a ticket. So as I was about to slow down, he pulled up on the drivers side, look at me, gaves me the thumbs up, and then continued along his way and takes the next freeway exit.
Maybe be likes the 09 Convertible, maybe he's a fellow bay area Mini owner, maybe he just really like Interchange Yellow, or maybe he understands what Always Open means in the Mini sub-culture, but either way, it was a cool experience that I had to share.

Using the information that nicknbecka provided in a posting in the Nav & Audio section, I decided to pick up 84-21-2-151-038 which I'll test out tonight. It will provide better signal, since the iPhone 3G will get to use the antenna on the roof when making and receiving calls plus it will take care of charging the iPhone.
Incase you're curious here is how the part numbers work:
For the original iPhone (non 3G)
- 84.10.9.182.792 - This is for Comfort Bluetooth without SmartPhone Integration
- 84.21.9.164.213 - This is for Comfort Bluetooth with SmartPhone Integration
For the updated iPhone 3G
- 84.21.2.151.038 - This is for Comfort Bluetooth without Smartphone Integration
- 84.21.2.151.043 - This is for Comfort Bluetooth with SmartPhone Integration
So if you purchase Comfort Bluetooth with SmartPhone integration, you get phone and iPod capabilities the this cradle in the center arm rest. If you purchase just Comfort Bluetooth (which has USB/iPod in the description line), then all you get is phone capabilities with this cradle in the center arm rest. There is no way (unless you do a FIY install) to get iPod capabilities with the cradle in the center arm rest.
Credit for all this information goes to nicknbecka who has summarized this and more cellular iniformation into a single Excel Worksheet, a link which can be found in his signature.

Congrats fellow R57 & bay area driver.... picked up my Horizon Blue Cooper S on Sunday. Love the car - hate the dealer. My car arrived light as well - missing aero kit, driving lights, ect ect.... drive fast & take chances.

On my Mini, they messed up and didn't install my PDC, even thought it was entered into the order system and one day it appeard in OL, and the day after the build process starts, it disappeared. Ahh well, it's still an awesome convertible and I wouldn't give it up for anything.
