Wood MFSW - "No Problem"

I'm preparing to order a MCS for late July delivery. I told my MA that there had been discussion on the NAM site that MINI might offer the wodd MFSW again in May. I noted that , while the leather MFSW might be the only choice on the configurator at the time I will order, I absolutely want the woodl steering wheel if it is available. (I am ordering English Oak dash trim.) My MA replied, "The wood wheel will be no problem."

This suggests that the earlier rumors about the possible renewed availability of this desrable option were likely based on reality, and that the wood MFSW will soon reappear on the configurator. This will be most welcome to all those who, like me, want to go with the wood-trim look. Good news.

I don't think your MA should be telling you that the wood wheel is available until he can show you a memo from corporate headquarters in N.J? I have English Oak and it's quite nice but seems to melt into the dash. I have Redwood Lounge Leather and Gotham Grey Colorline. In my opinion Black Lacquer sticks out better with the Redwood Red. There is no wood shift **** in the car either. My MA will not confirm or deny whether MINI will retrofit my car which was ordered with the wood wheel.

I ordered my Cooper on April 13 and my MA told me they had just gotten the memo, that the oak steering wheel was now available (although not showing up in the configurator) and she was able to order my MINI with the oak steering wheel via their ordering system. Not sure how all that will happen in the end but at this point it appears I'm good to go!!
