R56 Do we not miss the Slat grill?
I love the slats so much that I put a 2002 Cooper 4 slat chrome grille on my 2003 MCS.
If I ever get a new MINI, I'll want to replace that ugly black hole with some proper chrome slats. . .

How can I miss it?
"The British touch"? You mean, it doesn't leak oil like my old 62 Cooper?
How can I miss what I never had? How can I miss my 07 MCS when it is STILL NOT HERE?? Called my MA at eastbaymini.com today...I thought the car was (FINALLY...after turning down the first wave car that didn't come correct...NO CRUISE CONTROL!) to be in PH in LA this week. Turns out the dealers got a BULLETIN, and the car now won't be here till MID APRIL. Man, I'm so tired of this. I have waited for cars before, and I'm pretty patient. I honestly don't get my hopes up much and don't anticipate. Then they put the date further out. THIS IS MAKING ME TIIIIIIIIIIRED.
Regarding the R56 vs the R53 mentions... surely someone will make an aftermarket slat grill if you really want that look? It just doesn't matter to me. I can't see it from the driver's seat. I'll tell you what I have firmly decided I DON'T LIKE about my future 07 MCS... that bulbous rear bumper.
I waited a very long time for my Grinnall Scorpion, but it was worth every bit of the wait, and has proved itself now for seven years. This MCS waiting is just silly.
Oh yeah, let me vent... MA told me today that the dealer IPOD hookup is going to cost me FOUR HUNDRED AND EIGHTY DOLLARS installed. That seems ridiculously high.
Can I drive the 07 MCS when I'm BENT OVER?
OK, I'm done. It's Friday and I feel the need for cold ales coming on.
Let me say that phrase again ..."The British touch". You know what comes after that right?..."The British feel"...bahahahah!... and the joke is on me. You know what comes after the "British feel", right?? If this is foreplay, I'm not sure I want to go any further.
Wow, C4 and the boys are gonna love this one!
Now all you lucky bastards that aren't still playing the waiting game, have fun driving this weekend. I'll have to drive the Scorpion and continue waiting.

A few things hold me back from complete approval (like my approval matters LOL) for the R56. One major issue is that there is no longer a slat grill on the S.
(other issues are: the change in body/glass transition radius on the trunk compared to the sides of the car, cheap materials, bad body gaps, the BIGGER look, and the engine noise or lack there of) all IMHO!!!
I looked on the site for a while and did not come put with a major opinion on this topic....
Do you miss the slat grill on the S or not?
I personally miss the british touch....

I'm sure you could trade grills with someone. If I buy a MC I would change the grill. I do not like the slotted grill at all.
I like the slats, but if I was in the market for an R56 MCS that black plastic grill wouldn't keep me from buying it. The car's too much fun to worry about what grill it has.
I am very surprised MINI didn't make the slats available as an option. Wonder what the thinking was there?
