lot of NYers here. Im from LI - you see a lot of DS or SS around?

Lightning - that is a sweet picture. You may have convinced me on the "beige" even though you got rid of yours so quickly.

Sparkling Silver was my favorite the day I walked onto the lot.. dark silver next. I went with DS because my last 3 cars have been gold and I really wanted something more different!!

2 days later.. I went back to look again - and CHANGED MY ORDER and went with PW/B. ( I am a women - it's my right to change my mind!! ) You really can't go wrong with any color - I really think they all look great!

Go dark silver or go home! DS was my runner up color only because the MINI I "noticed" first was Chili Red. At times, I have buyer's color remorse.

Sparkling Silver is the only way to go. But I may be a little biased. Here is my SS/SS with 30% tint and JCW grille. SS has this unique ability to change color in different lighting. The only color I know that can do that.

AKA Metallic Khaki, Sparkling beige, Champagne

MCm, SS/SS, premium, sport seats, gotham grey, MFW/bluetooth

Not exactly from NY, but a tri-stater who gets around. However I think NYers will agree that there are more DSers on the road than SSers.

That said I love my DS. Yeah it's not the most flashy color, in fact it's very understated and classy, if that's your thing.

I'd go with sparking silver but I'm bias.

I'm one the the Dark Silvers you see on Long island. DS all the way, my cousin has a SS non-s and it's alright, nothing great.

OK I ordered SS/B on my new 2009 MCS! Love the contrast. Can't wait to add some carbon fiber and wheels.

Too bad I have to wait 2 months to drive my first Mini!

Excellent choice. You'll love it!

I went with Dark Silver w/ white roof. It's a pretty rare combo with the DS. (all DS mini's had black roofs)

In 2004 I ordered a Pure silver with a black roof, thinking it was so classy, it would never look cheap or outdated. I was right. But within weeks of ownership I saw a Dark Silver with a white top and fell in love. Now, 4 and a half years later, Duncan is waiting at the dock for a ship to come home to me.

You are correct.. Silver never goes out of style, just look at the last 30 years of Silver and you'll find that it has outlasted all other colors.
Every James Bond movie dating back to the sixties has had a silver car.

Does anyone have some nice pictures of both in similar lighting so I can get an idea? I'm going to the dealer this weekend but I don't think they have any sparkling silvers on hand to see in person. Any input is much appreciated!
Do a search on NAM you will find great shots. I did the same and just ordered a Dark Silver....that gets my vote..good luck.
