Gear icon on dash

Hey Ladies and Germs,

Went over a large speed bump (stock suspension), very slowly and suddenly the GEAR icon on dash turned on with a chime and the trans wouldn't shift past 2nd I believe. Drove home 3 miles, turned of engine and then back on and gear icon was gone. Didnt drive it further.

Ran my code checker (AutoEnginuity, which I hate) and no trans codes other than one from when the car had at 30k miles.

Im at 175k miles and the second trans.

I did notice the boot was torn on the driver CV joint, which must have JUST happened because I was under the car a few days ago but that has no relation to the trans error code.

No leaks. Heat maybe?

Thoughts?

Check your owner's manual. My 2012 owner's manual shows two different types and colors of transmission warning lights:

Hmmm good question. I think it was yellow with exclamation.

Curious.
