I have 11 mini cooper s with 78k miles and automatic transmission. I did not have any noise problem before I replaced the pcv membrane and bosch cam positioning sensor recently. the problem is that car makes rattling noise after warmed up for like 2 mins in the morning and it only makes vibrating noise when accelerating at low rpm like 1200-1700 rpm exactly. I can hear that louder when I slowly accelerate from 1200 to 1700 rpm and when it happens only when car is cold, once it's warmed up, I don't hear anything like that but I hear different chatter kind of noise from driver's side and it's pretty noticeable when the window is down. it happens same as when 1200 to 1700 rpm acceleration. both noises, In neutral or park and giving some revs the sound is not present, only in drive

 

Happened right after the work or sometime later? Are you getting any codes now, and what codes were you getting that made you change the cam position sensors?

 

There were no codes for the cam position sensors. I just gave a try since engine shakes when it gets warm but there was no change at all. it happened sometime later.
