Hey guys, I’m an r53 owner and I have no idea which car has the n18 motor. I’m looking for my mom and she wants the clubman and I heard the n14 isn’t the greatest. So I wanted to get her one that’s reliable car. I know i with minis ain’t gonna be like Toyota. But at least better than the n14.

This is the one I found. J wanted to make sure. And it looks like the owner is a dealer so he doesn’t know

 

That picture is a base model, non-turbo. That car will have either the N12 or N16 engine. The turbo models have the N14 or N18 engines.

For a Clubman, look for something 2013 or newer for the better engine options.

 

Just make sure it doesn't have a B series engine! I love what BMW did with the placement of the timing chain in the B-series!
