I'm rebuilding a flooded 2012 r56 it does not have comfort access, it has the key tray. Anyway, my keyless controls on the key are not working. I have pulled the key apart and even with 3v applied to the battery terminals as the original battery is way low (even lower compared to the pic after it charged some from the power being applied) it will not transmit. This is my only key. I am at the very end of this rebuild process and am ready to be inspected and am awaiting a callback from the shop to schedule the appointment and would like to have functioning keys in the future.
Who/where would be the best reasonably priced person/business to contact on replacement keys?
Dealership. They will need the VIN, your DL and the vehicle registration. The key is registered/programmed to the VIN, no way a clerk at Walmart can help with that

No local locksmith options? My key to my focus ST came up miasing and thw local locksmith came to my driveway and flashed in New fobs that I ordered from Amazon. Is a BMW dealer able to do it? I don't think I have any mini dealers closer than a 2hr drive.
I was posting thinking that maybe somone on here could bench flash them.
