Mini Cooper S 2007, won't get ignition nor start

Mini Cooper S 2007, won't get ignition nor start. The radio comes on but that's pretty much it. All you can hear is the sound of the key mechanical click going off randomly.

I have a 2008 mini d cooper. Bought as a non runner with in mind the pressurized fuel pump needed changing, which I have. Its had a new relay and new battery. Ive checked all the fuses and found non blown or have water or damp. It just won't run but turns over fine. Could it be the glow plugs and have you any other ideas that im missing.
