i finally tore into my 2010 JCW after it sat for 4 months due to low boost code and oil leaks. i replaced the turbo and misc seals, OCC etc. now i dont have climate control to bleed the coolant system, and the car wont start. i replaced the battery. no joy.
i am focusing on the starting issue first. the coils do not have 12v with key on. fuse is good. i'm getting battery voltage to pin 3 of the relay. so its either the relay or the JBE. this video says pin 6 should go from battery voltage to ground. there is no pin 6...
Do you have a sun roof? If so one of the drains runs down the A pillar right above the JBE causing water damage which makes them fail.
I looked at the wiring diagram something is off or I'm reading it wrong. Pin 6 is actually pin 1 on the relay. I went out and checked on my 09 S and pins 2 and 5 for the relay were hot and had 12v that's with the key off. So once the JBE grounds pin 1 it will activate the solenoid in the relay.
Pin 5 on the DME connector X60231 should have power if you're getting voltage at pin 3 on the relay. Its a green wire.
