I have a 2012 Cooper.
Has anyone here tried using the air filter as the cabin filter.
Where the cabin filter is normally installed, using an air filter.

 

Why would you want to do that. They're two different filters all together.

 

You're saying it won't work.

 

Check and compare the specifications of both filters. That will tell you dimensions.

 

Is there a reason you don't want to use a cabin filter for the cabin? I would assume they are different and you actually reminded me that I should probably change that out too. I would say to buy their respective filters and not try to mix and match

 

No, I think he's saying it's a really bad idea. I agree. The two filters have different requirements for filtration, flow etc.

If you can't find a cabin filter, or the cost is an issue, I would run it without one.
