Repair Estimates

Any idea on these sites and similar ones:

https://repairpal.com/
aaa.com - repair estimates
kbb.com - repair estimates
https://www.yourmechanic.com/estimates
Shops/Mechanics seems to quote 2.5x times average prices.

Oil changes aren’t that bad on these. When I’m being lazy I Jack up just the driver side, I’ve heard ramps can be quicker. I’ve done a few rear sway bars and and the shocks and springs in the rear are pretty easy to get to. I’m guessing either you don’t have the space of the tools?

I’m one of a few people that have torn their mini down in a parking lot of an apartment complex or townhouse’s. We now have 3 carports and no one bugs me. Just being honest here, I wouldn’t want to pay any mechanic to try and sort out a non running mini, and the cost of some of these simple hand tools you will need will pay for themselves within a few oil changes or just simple repairs that you make.

Now that I think about it, the only fluid I haven’t changed, out in the parking lot, has been my trans fluid. That was changed when I paid $1400 for a clutch job. One tool that’s has paid for itself twice over is the motive power bleeder. Not only does it fit the brake reservoir but it also fit your coolant reservoir.
