n12 head vs n14 differences

to be short my 10 clubman s needs a cylinder head overhaul. while at the machine shop they had a rebuilt cylinder head that the customer left. they will sell it to me for 300, the casting isv753354980 n All the research says it may be a non turbo head . the shop thinks it was from a 09 clubman non turbo. its been in there shop for a year. will it work? and if its slightly different (like springs or cams)can i just swap them out of my n14 head?
thanks
phillip

It won't work. The N12 engine has VANOS on both cams while the N14 has it on the intake cam only. The cams are basically matched to the head so swapping them around is a hassle, plus you'd be left with a hole to plug where the VANOS solenoid inserts into the head.

Beyond that, as far as port and valve sizing I have no idea if they are the same between the two.

Unfortunately, as the bombardier noted the heads are not interchangeable. In addition to dual vanos the N12 uses port injection as opposed to direct injection and the exhaust ports are round rather than oval.
