Are there any auto shop you guys reccomend in the Seattle area?

My 2010 Mini Cooper S needs a new alternator and the prices are about $900 - $1400.

Not sure if this is reasonable or not.

Please let me know.

 

If you're mechanically inclined, there's a DIY garage in Kirkland called Stew's Garage. Lifts, full sets of tools in each bay, etc. I used it to do some stuff to my brother's car when I visited him out there a couple of months ago, great place.

 

For an overview of the process
Being mechanically inclined and having patience required. Prices seem a bit high for a shop to do that, you are probably quoting dealership. Sorry don't know the Seattle shops at all.
