Radio need to be coded upon replacement and ??
Dead radio, display, chime. 2009 Base CD boost.
Removed radio (pretty easy). Radios available $60 - $100 at parts yards.
Do I need to code or wake up the "new" radio? If so, how?
I have an obd cable for my laptop and understand that there is software available to code.
Has anyone ever figured out what, exactly does cause the radio to fail?

radio should not have to be "coded".....at least on the Gen I cars.....I read somewhere here in the forum recently that someone else asked the same question and they did not have to code that radio either....I just can't remember what year the car was
Did you check all your fuses? Did you check for codes?

Installed $50 junk yard radio.
Works! But, this radio shows the USB option, but no Aux option.
My radio had no USB, but did have Aux.
Back to the junkyard to get the aux/usb connector and cable. That may fix it.
Also, now shows a phone option, but see no way in menu to configure.
Can anyone enlighten me?
