Floor jack

Is it OK to use a floor jack on the jack points?

I do with a small block of wood and never ran into any issues.

I have for years ... using common sense cautions

BUT

if you use the floor jack on the jack point, where are you planning to put the jack stand? cuz as you know you should NEVER work on a car on a JACK .....

ONLY use the jack to lift and then lower the car to a good jack stand

for safety . . .

then lifting using the subframe or the 2x4 method is better as it leaves the jack point open for the jack stand . . .

Scroll down to the 28 April article titled "How a stud lifts a MINI".
I've been doing this for years especially for rotating the tires.
