AEM needs a MINI in SoCal
Hey all,
*Precursor, I am not paid or employed by AEM but they are a partner on my project and a kick-*** one at that. AEM has been a big partner on my build working with me on my meth injection system as well as my dash and data logging solution setting me up with their CD-5L, CAN Sensor Module, amongst a few other things. I hope I'm not violating any board policies but this benefits all of us so I figured this would be ok.
My CD5L digital dash from them is supposed to integrate into the OBDII to pull data from the ECU but unfortunately, it doesn't seem that the MINI ECU and AEM system want to play nice. They are looking for a MINI in Southern California to make the needed software updates to their system so that we can reap the benefits of their badass system. I've attached their email to me, feel free to email them directly.
"Apparently, we need a 2nd Gen (07-13) Mini to take a look at the CAN data from the stock ECU, as we are getting complaints from Europe. Based on the logs we have seen, it looks like the OEM did not follow the SAE JS CAN protocol for that generation so we will need to do some development to make it work.
AEM Performance Electronics is looking for a 2nd Generation (2007-2013) Mini Cooper for OBDII CAN bus data testing. The vehicle should be located in Southern California and ideally Los Angeles or Orange County. We will need the vehicle for a period of two to three days most likely. We will fully reimburse for a rental car and will provide transportation to and from a car rental facility. No mechanical or electrical work will be performed on the vehicle, it will only be used to access the CAN datastream and validate a product interface. We will offer as compensation any AEM gauge that the person who loans us the vehicle chooses, and a significant discount on a CD Digital Dash if they desire. Anyone interested should contact sales@aemelectronics.com and use the subject line "Mini Loaner" so that their email is directed to the correct department."
If there is anyone who is in the area and interested, this would be a pretty sweet deal!
If you have questions about the setup, dm me on isntagram at @outlawedmotors
Thanks!
Alex

Also thank you personally. The OBD II integration is huge for my CD5 setup.
