Morning All....


A few weeks back I started noticing a metallic clunk coming from the driver side engine bay when I started the car and upon 1st gear acceleration. After reading a few posts I decided to replace the engine mounts & transmission mount. The noise went quiet for a few days and then came back. Last night couldn't take the noise and pulled the upper engine mount & transmission mount to ensure I tightened it down properly.... everything seemed tight.....I'm at a loss....


Its a metal type clunk.. I hear it when I push the start button & the engine turns over to start, also when I take off and when the engine lugs... at highway speeds I hear if off & on...


Thoughts Ideas.......

 

I would have a 2nd person start it while you have your ear next to the suspect sound source. Maybe even use a long screwdriver against your ear.
