P0118 CTS- no voltage at connector

Replaced the CTS- no change. Checked voltage at connector and getting zero- nothing. Next step is to check voltage at ECU pinout- but do not have wiring diagram (had car one week).

2007 MCS - AEM intake and who knows what other changes....

Did some more troubleshooting today. Traced the two CTS wires through harness and they split off from harness right in front of ECU. Has separate plug connected to front of ECU. Unplugged that connector and checked for voltage- 10.8V.

Plugged it it back in and checked CTS lead. 10.8V.
reassembled intake thinking all was good- CEL still on. No power to CTS?!?! Checked connector by ECU- no power.

I think you need to measure the resistance of the CTS when car is cold and then when it is warm.

Also, you might want to get live date showing the temp.

finally, clear the code and see if it comes back.

Hidden menu to show temp gives error not actual reading. I will check resistance of actual sensor (old one and new one). I am thinking it may be the connector by the ECU or a symptom of weak battery. Only showing 11V on battery...

might be, but once the car starts, the voltage should rise to 12 or 13.

keep us posted
