Time for grill mounted rally lights

I am considering installation options for grill mounted lights. I don't find the factory fogs in the lower bumper very helpful. Is the electrical requirements for the different lights the same? Is there any reason why the factory wire couldn't be extended to reach the new grill lights and just not use the lower fogs. It would be much easier to retain the factory wiring and dash switch of the relays and fuses can handle it.
What have you guys done?

I was interested in adding some too and hoped someone would respond.
Lots of info if you search for Rally Lights.
Here's the install for OEM lights: http://www.minimania.com/pdfile/R56_Rally_Lights.pdf
Also, some options at out motoring.com
Hopefully someone will reply that has done as very basic set.

I'm confused, are you adding aftermarket grill mounted driving lights or fog lamps? If you're adding fog lights you can always use the power from your existing oem fogs to trigger a relay to power your new fogs and your bumper mounted fogs simultaneously. Disconnecting your oem fogs (or removing the bulbs) may trigger a "bulb out" warning on the dash.

I had hoped to just unplug the lower fogs and extend that existing wiring to power up the grill mounted lights. I don't want holes in the front bumper, so will just leave them installed but not powered up.

Might work if the wattage on your new rally lights is similar to your oem fogs. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.....

The lights on the bumper will be 12V might have a lower fuse rating than the factory rally lights, those were 55w i believe and the factory fogs are 35w
