2009 jcw ?

Looking at a 2009 JCW due to a bad move totaling my 2009 MCS. What does this give me over the stock MCS? It has the sport suspension (226 build code) , is this a JCW or just the usual sport suspension? Will I want to put my Alta 19mm on it if I buy it? Also, what does the JCW give you, outside of the engine and exhaust mods, that the MCS didn't? Thanks

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-cooper-s.html will tell you everything you need to know.

Sport suspension option 226 will be the same parts for both JCW and S. The standard equipment JCW suspension is the same as the S. I think you would want to put the 19mm sway on the JCW too.

If you want the R56 JCW I would try and get a 2013, for the updated N18 engine and extra features from the LCI that aren't available in any other 2nd-gen year for the JCW. It'll be more reliable in the long run vs the N14 engine.

Thanks and yea, I'm familiar with the N14 issues but I couldn't help myself. I'm getting a 2009 JCW with only 12000 miles on it. It even smells new inside. I'll post some pics after I pick it up later this week.

I upgraded from an 08 S and the pop + burble with JCW exhaust on my JCW is 100% worth it!! I'll zip around town in lower gears just to hear the pops and annoy everyone around

When I opted for a JCW spec rear sway bar from the parts dept at local dealer it was an 18.5 mm black bar. My stock 2010 MCS S rear bar was 17.5mm

Congrats on such a good low mileage car.

The 19mm bar won't hurt at all and will make it better, but I would actually suggest moving up to an Hsport Comp bar as it will be a much bigger improvement and more reliable bar.
