R56 Is my turbo a T3, or T4?
It's a T3. T3 and T4 relate to turbine housing, wheel size and flange design. Generally speaking standard T3 turbos can support up to 300bhp. T4 flow more so can support higher HP. Hybrid turbos combine a T4 turbine wheel with the T3 turbine housing and a larger compressor wheel.
Thanks, good info. So what kinda of ET does your car do inthe 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile for that matter. Maybe you've given that a go before? It appears yours has lots of goodies. I suppose that's built more for the circuit track as opposed to straight line. But it must be pretty quick?
Never put it down the quarter mile. Even with 235's and an LSD installed traction from launch through third sucks. Next set of upgrades is port injection and electronic boost controller. Hopefully the resolution of the Cortex EBC will allow me to dial the traction in. From a rolling start it will pull a GT or Vette so I guess I should be happy with that.
Yes, I'd say that sounds very respectable. I bet they hate that crap? That must bring a huge grin to your face?
Tends to make my day when it happens.
Its gotta be embarrassing for them though whereas I have nothing to loose. If there's also curves involved well... then its just a slaughter. God I do love Mini's.
