R56 Oil Leak
Oil Leak
My mini has created a oil leak and Detroit tuned said it was an oil filter housing gasket. Today I looked around and it looks like the oil pan gasket could be leaking as well. While both of these jobs are kinda in the same area I think I am going to do both. I was reading how now the oil pan is just the gasket and now silicone sealant. Is there a certain sealant that you guys recommend?
There is the regular gasket and then the updated sealant. MINI updated to that part but you can still get the gasket. Some people like the sealant more as it can flex with the heat.

Just a mention that I though I had a sump/pan gasket leak - turned out to be the front crankshaft oil seal. Chucks oil at the sump so looks the same. Worth checking that seal while you are in there.
