I know, beaten to death but nothing current to help. Astro was delivered in summer '08 with Dunlop Run flats. Awful. Replaced with 215/45/17 Michelin Pilot Super Sports (on 17" Crown Spokes) after 19k miles. 17k miles on this set of rubber and they are near toast. Street only. Michelin has a 6yr/30k mile warranty.

TireRack is great and there is likely some warranty coming back on a replacement set, but has anyone had any better experience with 17" rubber on Cooper S stock wheels? Feel free to toss some recommendations in that size if you've had 'em with good results.

 

I got 24K out of my first set of PSS, including a few track days. Now 5K on the 2nd set. Did you rotate frequently? Alignment OK?

Anyways, apply the treadwear warranty to a new set. I'd rather have the performance and understand that they are going to wear out a bit quicker than a tire designed for high miles.
