At what temp should cooling fan turn on?

2007 R56 hatchback

Radiator cooling fan driving me crazy. It stopped running. Local independent shop replaced thermostat housing, fan ran for few days then quit.

CEL came on, coe P0117 engine coolant input temp circuit low input. Replaced the temp sensor, CEL light cleared, did not come back on.

Suddenly, the fan came on and seemed to act normal . . . ran for a minute, shut off, ran for a minute when I turned off the engine.

Started engine, ran it for few minutes, fan never came back on.

I had my ScanGuage attached and it showed water temp climbing to 148 deg F. I quit because my garage is unheated and my fingers were freezing.

At what temp should the cooling fan come on? I'll go back outside, start it, let it get up to that temp and see if the fan comes on.

Thanks.

I am guessing here, but somewhere around 226 degrees. It should also come on if you select A/C.
