Buying an R56, Need Warranty Advice

Hey guys, Within the next month I will be buying an R56 2013 Justa from Carvana. However, I do not really know what problems tend to plague that year's Justa. The website offers an extended warranty that allows me to be helped at a Mini dealership with a 50 dollar deductible .

The question lies in the fact that the manufacturer's warranty ends in 2017. I'll paste the link to the parts that are covered under the extended warranty. I'd really appreciate it if you guys could tell me if it looks like the warranty covers all of the common 2013 Justa R56 problems. Warranty: https://www.carvana.com/Content/imag...6351e82f5bf60d Thanks again

If the car in question is at an authorized MINI dealer and was traded-in (or lease turn-in), it should be eligible for CPO extended warranty subject to total mileage and condition. My (sig) MINI was such, being a 3-year lease vehicle turned in just the day before. There were other 2013 MINI cars (Justa and MCS) in inventory but it was the only one equipped with 6-spd Getrag which I preferred. Being a 2013 model, its had 1-year remaining of original factory warranty plus 1-year additional factory warranty based-on prox 17k total miles at time of sale 2 months ago.

Never used nor heard of Carvana, so can't comment beyond recommending that you limit your search (from retail dealers) to that within the authorized MINI network.

Thanks for the response. I know it isn't an authorized mini retail dealer, but the Mini dealership near me is selling the same cars with double the miles for the same price (and not CPO). I also have a nice discount code there.

My main concern was whether it looks like the linked warranty seems to cover the most common 2013 Justa issues.

Without linking to the particular car of interest, it would be helpful - at least to me - knowing your location relative to major MINI dealerships. For example, this somewhat related thread post (which had no subsequent reply) shows my bias for pristine condition and equipment, if not paying substantially less on a private party sale basis. Specific car linked within that response might not be what you'e looking for, however its an example of low mileage well equipped cars available within the MINI CPO dealer network. This worked for me since I wanted end of 2nd gen vs earlier 2nd gen or early 3 gen. Supply of leased 2013 model year turn-ins will soon be exhausted....

I live about 35 minutes away from Hendrick Mini in Charlotte, NC. The closest thing they have to what I want is a 59k miles 2013 Justa for 14ish thousand. The ones I'm looking at on Carvana are around half the miles (29k) for the same price (not counting my discount code). That is pretty much the reason that I am leaning towards Carvana (other than the good reviews). The only thing I'm a little iffy on is their warranty in conjunction with that year and models common issues.

Well, I'm more than an hour drive from the nearest MINI dealer (where I bought mine) but if time permits, a fly 'n drive to the SW region might result in the right car for you. Here in AZ, many owners (or lessees) obtain a new MINI (or similar vehicles) not as primary but as secondary transportation. My own MINI ownership has been brief but I wouldn't trust any warranty other than OEM - original or extended. Rather than buying retail without such a warranty, I'd much rather buy private party and take my chances. I was prepared to do that but in AZ, reality is that most folks trade in late model vehicles for sales tax advantage rather than advertising private party.
