First post - looking to borrow can locking tool from forum member
Hey guys,
I come from the Corvette world and recently bought a 2009 Cooper S (R56) with 65k miles for my daughter - what a fun car to drive! I believe it has the broken chain tensioner issue based on what I hear in the motor and what I've read thus far. I believe I can do the work on my own and was hoping one of you may have that cam locking tool I could borrow to do the job. I would PayPal enough to cover the tool and would look for reimbursement for most of that amount upon return. I can't see buying such a specialized tool for a one time job.
As far as the work goes, does anyone have any tips, tricks, or a good write up with pics to use as a guide?
Finally, anyone have the cam locking tool to loan by chance? Please send me an email at taken19@yahoo.com as I won't be on this forum very often.
Thanks!
Sean
